Solid Australian Opal 14kt Gold Wire-wrapped Rosary Click above Picture for Enlarged View Genuine rare 6mm Australian opal with lots of fiery purple red and green is wire-wrapped in solid 14kt gold wire. The Paters are also Australian opal capped with solid 18kt handmade beads and accented with high grade faceted spinel. Spinel used to be the substitute for rubies, but have now surpassed the quality of most rubies and is considered a precious gemstone. Spinel is the great imposter of gemstone history: many famous rubies in crown jewels around the world are actually spinel. The most famous is the Black Prince's Ruby, a magnificent 170-carat red spinel that currently adorns the Imperial State Crown in the British Crown Jewels after a long history: Henry V even wore it on his battle helmet! The Timur Ruby, a 352-carat red spinel now owned by Queen Elizabeth, has the names of some of the Mughal emperors who previously owned it engraved on its face, an undeniable pedigree! Absolutely gorgeous on this Rosary! The center is a genuine Creed highly detailed Miraculous medal in 14k solid gold. What really makes this rosary stand out is the cross. It is a Museum quality recast. The gemologist let me look at the deatil of the front and back under his microscope and it's amazing! Highly collectible Russian Orthodox cross made by Russian iconographer Feodorov in St. Petersburg, Russia. Each piece has an outer frame of gilded pure 24k solid gold (.999 pure gold). The sculpted iconography is done in solid sterling silver (.925 purity silver) and then deeply oxidized to bring out the detail. Astonishing precision, each piece tells a unique religious story. Substitute this Fedorov cross with another Fedorov cross for a little extra, too. Scroll below to see the other options. Archangels
